FAQ

I would like to buy a kit, there are multiple different options. Which one is right for me?

There are a few different factors to consider when purchasing one of our kits. We make recommendations based off of three questions:

What is your budget?
Do you use the truck to tow?
Do you use the truck for performance or off-road driving?

Our first option is the airdelete.com conversion kit. This is a good choice for customers who want brand new parts and mostly use their truck for average everyday driving. This is our in house branded kit.

Our second option is the Bilstein Conversion Kit. This kit is best for those who have a higher budget and who want the absolute best ride possible. We also recommend this kit to those who are towing often or those who use their truck off-road but are not interested in purchasing a lift kit. This kit comes with multiple front ride height options. For those who tow often, we usually recommend to keep the front ride height at stock or +0.7". If you only tow light loads, +1.4" would be acceptable. Trucks are designed from Ram to come with the rear suspension about 2.5" higher than the front to accommodate any load from a trailer or payload in the box without the nose of the truck pointing in the air. If you order the 2.1" level and then tow heavy trailers, you will likely end up with the nose of the truck pointing upwards during towing (which is not desirable for handling or for night driving). The 2.1" leveling kit height is appropriate for those customers who want the best aesthetics possible, but do not tow or load the box with weight often.

Please note that if you tow on a semi-regular basis, you should strongly consider choosing the +35% spring upgrade. The stock Ram rear coils are known to be softer than expected from the factory and do not handle weight well. The +35% coils are an excellent choice to fix this.

Front ride height is a personal choice based on your own usage and you will need to decide what is right for you. The front struts are adjustable even after your purchase, but they will need to be removed from the vehicle, compressed using a commercial grade strut compressor, reinstalled and a wheel alignment must be performed. If you need assistance choosing a ride height, please give us a call and we would be happy to help

Our third option is the 3" lift kit. This is recommended for our customers who intend to install larger tires and use their truck off-road. This kit comes in 2 versions - the Bilstein version uses a rear coil spacer. The Eibach 3" lift is our premium 3" lift and comes with a longer coil for the rear rather than a spacer, and offers slightly improved ride quality.

Our final option is the 4" or 6" lift kits. These conversion & lift kits use out Bilstein 5100 conversion kit along with Zone Offroad lift components.

Why can't I just go to the parts store and purchase what I need?

There are a few reasons why this will end with less than desirable results. The parts stores keep suspension components on hand that are meant to replace parts on trucks that originally came with springs. There are some design issues that need to be addressed, like the difference in upper strut mount hole size between spring and non-spring trucks and the difference in rear bump stop design among others. In addition to this, it is extremely unlikely that the parts store, your local mechanic, or the Dodge dealership will be able to remove the warning light that will illuminate after removal of the air suspension system. This is a very important step, especially when it comes to the eventual resale of your truck.

What warranty do your products carry?

All of our products carry a one year parts warranty. Our Bilstein conversion kits carry a lifetime warranty. If we install your conversion kit, we also warranty labor for one year.

How will my truck ride after the conversion kit is installed?

All of our products are intended to restore your truck to OEM or better ride quality.

How will the conversion kit affect my towing capacity?

On all 2013 - 2019 Ram 1500 trucks, the towing capacity of the air suspension models is the same as the spring suspension models. The legal towing capacity will not be affected.

Can I install the kit myself? Can I purchase a kit and have a local mechanic shop install it?

Absolutely! All of our kits come with full instructions for both programming and installation of the kit. It is difficult to assess the mechanical ability of a customer, but generally it is doable for the handyman type or backyard mechanic. You will need a variety of hand tools as well as the ability to lift the vehicle and safely support it one axle at a time during install.

If you'd like to have a local mechanic install your kit, no problem! We will happily work with your mechanic of choice if they have any questions or if any issues arise. Normal shop time to install one of our kits should be approximately four to five hours (plus the cost of a wheel alignment).

Why are your kits better than the competitors?

We offer a variety of kits. Our aftermarket replacement kit is considered OEM quality and would meet or exceed the quality of our competitors kits. Our Bilstein kits are built on one of the best names in the suspension industry!

In addition to this, our kits don't use unreliable relays like the competition does to remove the warning lights. These cheap relays trick the system into thinking the air suspension is still working. Our kits use a programmer which has the ability to reconfigure the trucks computer so that it thinks it never came with air suspension to begin with. Ours is a permanent solution!

How long will shipping take?

Shipping times strongly depend on your location.  We see delivery to most major cities (and surrounding areas)  within 2-3 business days of shipping.  More rural and remote areas can be 3-6 business days.

We try our best to get shipments out the same or next day, but this can vary depending on order volumes.  If you'd like an accurate shipping ETA, please email before ordering.  Shipping ETA's are an estimate only - we recommend that you do not book installation appointments until after you've received your conversion kit.

What shipping carriers do you use?

We generally ship with either UPS, Purolator or Canada Post (usually only for rural or remote areas).

Please note that we are not responsible for shipments that have been successfully delivered to the receivers address but have subsequently been lost or stolen. The onus is on the receiver to ensure that they are present at the time of delivery to accept the shipment. If the courier leaves the package unattended at the receivers address, the shipment is considered to be delivered and the safety of the shipment after this time falls on the receiver.

What is your return policy?

We have a 30 day return policy on all of the products we sell on our website. You will be responsible for return shipping costs and there is a 20% restocking fee on all returned kits. In order to be eligible for a return, the kit must be unused. If you have an issue with your kit, please contact us using the information below.

What are the details on programming tool returns?

In order to receive a refund for your programming tool deposit, please follow the instructions on the last page of the programming instruction sheet.  Please note that we cannot refund programming tools returned more than one year past the original purchase date.
